Am liebsten fotografiere ich Tiere.
Sie sind so viel schöner anzusehen und um einiges vielfältiger ausgestattet als der Mensch.
Außerdem sind sie misstrauisch, sie posen eben nicht. Besonders misstrauisch sind Vögel, die noch dazu in der Lage sind, einfach wegzufliegen, wenn ihnen etwas nicht passt. Vögel zu fotografieren ist eine echte Herausforderung. Wilde Vögel, aber auch freilaufende Hühnchen, denn fast alle Vögel sind extrem intelligent und neugierig, wollen alles sehen, wissen, erfahren, darum bewegen sie sich so ungemein schnell.
Vieles davon wusste ich bei den ersten Bildchen noch nicht. Inzwischen habe ich angefangen, mich schlau zu machen. Ich bin dabei, (veraltet) Hobby-Ornithologin bzw. (trendy) birder zu werden. Tatsächlich sind unsere gefiederten Freunde noch zu einem großen Teil unerforscht, da sie zu lang für “dumm” gehalten wurden. Diese Vermutung ist falsch.

Und darum geht es auf meinen Tier-Seiten:

Ich möchte Wissen vermitteln. Außerdem will ich Interesse und das Bewusstsein wecken, dass der Mensch nicht allein ist, dass er sich im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes “umsehen” soll. Darum vermische ich bereits Bekanntes mit eigenen Beobachtungen. Gerade bei Vögeln gibt es Unzähliges zu entdecken. Ich möchte, dass Amseln, Meisen und Co. wieder wahrgenommen, respektiert und bewundert werden :-).

Zudem möchte ich aufrütteln. Darum stelle ich Tierschutzorganisationen vor und beschreibe, warum man auf Batterie-Eier und Nicht-Biofleisch verzichten und am besten Vegetarier werden sollte.

They are much more beautiful and multifaceted than human beings.
Above that, they’re suspicious, they’re no posers. Birds are particularly suspicious, they also have the ability to fly away if there’s something that doesn’t suit them. The photography of birds is a real challenge. Of wild birds, but also of chickens, because almost all birds are extremely intelligent and curious, that’s why they want to see, know, experience everything, that’s why they move so fast.
Much of that I didn’t know when I took my first pictures. But I have started to get informed, i’m becoming a birder.
Our feathered friends have actually been a bit neglected by scientific research. This behaviour was based on the assumption that birds are dumb. This assumption is wrong.

My animal sites are about ...

... imparting some knowledge. Above that I want to park interest in birds. Human beings are not alone on the planet, it’s cool to have a look around, you can learn a lot. I will mix known facts with my own observations. Blackbirds, tits and fellows should be noticed, respected and admired :-).

Aditionally I want to awake people’s consciousness. That’s why I will present animal welfare organisations. That is also why I’m going to tell you why it’s wrong to eat battery eggs and meat that is not of organic origin and why it’s cool to become vegetarian.
